We’re excited to announce that the San Antonio National Pan-Hellenic Council (SANPHC) will host its 2nd Annual HBCU Virtual Walk Challenge from September 19, 2021 to September 25, 2021 in honor of National HBCU Week! Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, we are unable to celebrate in-person as we initially planned. Staying active during this time of social distancing is important for our mental and physical well-being! SANPHC wants to encourage everyone to “Just Get Moving!” The HBCU Virtual Race Challenge can be completed from ANY location you choose.
All walkers, runners, swimmers, cyclists, and communities will collectively complete the #HBCUTrail. The #HBCUTrail is the distance it takes to travel to each HBCU, starting at St. Philip’s College, San Antonio, TX and ending at Howard University, Washington DC. This distance is 14,068 miles! Registration will open Sunday,September 19, 2021. Collectively, we will reach the goal of completing 14,068 miles.
Another goal is to raise money to support our scholarship fund, which awards outstanding high school seniors from the San Antonio community as they enter their first year of college. In addition, a portion of the event proceeds will benefit the HBCU Scholarship Foundation of the top fundraising HBCU team.
Registration link will be coming soon!
