Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc was founded on the evening of November 17, 1911 at Howard University in Washington, D.C by three undergraduate students with the assistance of their faculty advisor.

Their mission is to bring about union of college men of similar high ideals of scholarship and manhood in order to stimulate the attainment of ideas and ambitions of its members; occupy a progressive, helpful and constructive place in political life of the community and nation; and foster the humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual; and aid downtrodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher economic and intellectual status. It is with this mission, Omega Psi Phi builds a strong and effective force of men dedicated to its cardinal principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift.

History of the Alamo City Ques 

On November 1, 1940, eight HBCU graduates who became professionals in different fields with the Supreme Council of  Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc chartered the Psi Alpha Chapter in San Antonio, Tx, where their motto is “Long Live the Alamo City Ques!”

Not only were their charter members were influential within the fraternity as a whole, but were influential in shaping the history of the African American Community in San Antonio.
